Bonefish Grill

We went out to Bonefish Grill in Exton last night with Jeff and Amanda. I didn't have really high expectations for the place since it was a chain but I figured it would be good. Rob and I do like certain chains a lot, like Chili's, so it's not a vendetta against all chains.
It's owner by the same company that owns Outback, but there was no hint of that. We had a reservation aaaaaand there was actually a table available for us when we got there at 6:30. Nice! The decor was understated and comfortable. Definately a little more upscale, but we all wore jeans and nice shirts. The hostess seemed bored but luckily our waiter was nice. It was his first week also so he was a little dippy and awkward, but he was willing to find out answers to the questions about the menu. The martinis were DIVINE. I think we decided the best one was the Pomegranite martini.
Our appetizers were excellent. We asked our fledgling waiter for a recommondation and he knew well enough to suggest the Bang Bang shrimp. It definately had a kick, but it was crispy, tangy and came with chopsticks. We also got the bacon wrapped scallops. The scallops were perfect and the bacon basically melted into it instead of just wrapping around it. It came with a nice mango salsa that you can also choose to get as one of the grilled fish preparations. My only complaint would be the price as four scallops for near 10 bucks didn't seem that reasonable.
I was then very much looking forward to dinner after going in with such moderate expectations. Everyone again was very satisfied with their dinner. I personally had scallops and shrimp in a tomato lime garlic sauce. The sauce was awesome and I had already seen they could prepare the seafood well.
All in all, I was pleasantly surprised. Today we will attempt to make an Italian feast from Jamie Oliver's new book Jamie's Italy.
